It's almost time for the South Gibson County Middle School Love My Library Fundraiser!
Love My Library is a fun and exciting way to build a home library while helping us raise money for our library. Our fundraiser starts Feb 1st 2022. The goals for this fundraiser are to replace books that had to be taken out of our collection due to age or outdated information. Our second goal for the fundraiser is to purchase more STEM items for our library. We hope that you will help support this effort to make our library a place that students enjoy coming to each day.

Current 8th grade students and parents: If you are interested in learning about the AP Human Geography class that is offered to freshmen, there will be a meeting in the library at SGCHS on February 3 at 6pm. Students will find out more about the class and there will be former AP Human Geography students there to talk about the class. Qualifications to enroll in the class will also be shared at this meeting. Each year, GCSSD recognizes a principal and supervisor’s contributions to their school and department. Jim Hughes and Paige Garner are the recipients of this award for the 2022-23 SY. GCSSD is proud to have them as a part of the team and we appreciate the leadership exemplified by these two!

Congrats to four students from our band made Allwest! These students include Max Smith, Lawson Simmons, Wyatt Smith, and Eli Lickey, who made 1st chair middle school trumpet. We are super proud of these students!

Our 2022 Scripps Spelling Bee has been rescheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 pm (please note the change in time), in the school library. Parents of Spelling Bee participants are welcome to attend the Spelling Bee. We request that no small children are brought to the spelling bee so as to not distract our spellers. Thank you for your understanding.
